James Bond hopefuls Aaron-Taylor Johnson and Theo James joined forces to shoot dramatic action scenes for their new film Fuze in a quarry in Kent on Sunday.
Both actors are set to take on the iconic role of 007, taking over from Daniel Craig, with some media reporting that 34-year-old Aaron has ‘officially been offered the job’.
On set, Theo, 39, had his hand tied behind his back in scenes while his character was taken hostage in the back of a truck.
Covered in dust and dirt, he was seemingly rescued by Aron’s soldier, who was wearing camouflage and carrying a gun.
One sequence saw bullets being fired before the stunt team made one vehicle flip onto its roof.

Aaron responded coyly to rumors that he might step into Bond’s shoes earlier this year, telling Numero: “I think it’s fascinating and wonderful that people see me in this role” (R, Daniel Craig in Skyfall)
Meanwhile, Theo said: ‘Everyone is interested [Bond] because it’s a big part of British cultural identity, but that probably wouldn’t be me’ (R, Daniel Craig in Casino Royale)
The film also stars fellow actor Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Australian actor Sam Worthington.
The official synopsis reads: “After an unexploded World War II bomb is discovered on a London construction site, the chaos that ensues as the bomb is evacuated and disarmed provides the perfect cover to pull off a robbery of a nearby bank.”
Despite the rumours, insiders have denied reports that Aaron has been cast as the new Bond in the 007 films, causing speculation to swirl.

Meanwhile, Theo, who is of Greek descent, is one of at least twenty established names linked to the role of James Bond.
Regarding the rumours, he told The Guardian: ‘Everyone is interested [Bond] because it’s a big part of British cultural identity, but that probably wouldn’t be me.
I think there are better people for the job. And, frankly, it would be terrifying: if you do, there’s no going back. You are opening Pandora’s box here.
You have to be willing to live a very different life and have a different life for your family. And that would be quite difficult. Besides, my friends would take the p*ss out of me. Because they always say, “Bondopoulos – Greek bond.”

James is also ranked 18th in a recent survey commissioned by Lottoland of 2,000 British Bond fans.
Luther star Idris Elba tops the list, while Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill and Oscar winner Cillian Murphy also feature in the top 20.
The long-running Bond franchise is known for turning those who play the secret agent into global superstars.
And he’s not shy about letting stars from the left take over the role; The late Sean Connery, one of the most recognizable Bonds, only appeared in a series of TV movies when he accepted the role of the British spymaster in 1962’s Dr. Well, what brought him international fame.
But while Elba was the top choice, fans may end up disappointed after the actor opted out of the role last year to focus on his Netflix deal starring in Luther: The Fallen Sun.
The actor has sparked persistent debate about taking over the role of famed British spy Ian Fleming in February 2023.

When asked about Luther at the World Government Summit in Dubai, he said: “It’s very dark.
‘We’ve been doing the TV show for about 10 years and so the natural ambition is to bring it to the big screen and so here we are with the first film.
You know, a lot of people are talking about another character that starts with J and ends with B, but I’m not going to be that guy.

Meanwhile, Idris Elba topped a recent poll commissioned by Lottoland and conducted among 2,000 British Bond fans to name who they would most like to take on the next role.
‘I will be John Luther. It’s me.’
As early as August 2022, it was reported that Elba had left ‘annual talks’ with film bosses to take on the famous role.
He was the bookies’ favorite to replace Daniel Craig as the super-spy, but wants other roles – and even submitted a list of suggested names for the 007 role to producer Barbara Broccoli.
